Supporting residents during a wartime bomb evacuation

The Fortress Hill Care Team helped residents with communication, transport arrangements and luggage.

Following the discovery of a wartime bomb near Pan Hoi Street, government departments, district councillors and Care Teams jointly supported evacuation and temporary accommodation. Lily Li spoke to Wen Wei Po as captain of the Fortress Hill Care Team.

The report describes team members explaining the situation to elderly residents, arranging vehicles and helping with luggage. Li also discussed councillors’ role in communicating information and residents’ needs between the community and the authorities.

This was a joint emergency response across departments and teams. The original report describes the wider arrangements and the contributions of other participating teams.
